The sun was shining for Hayley and Ivan’s wedding, the day was packed full of laughs, great food, and had an awesome soundtrack (thanks to Ivan’s Dad!). I’m all about capturing the real emotion and authentic vibes of a wedding day, and Hayley and Ivan wanted me to do just that – perfect! Their venue, Styal Lodge, was the ideal location for a relaxed, party-focused wedding.
I have plenty of experience as a Cheshire wedding photographer, and this was a new venue for me to explore. It’s always nice to tick a new one off the list! Set in the grounds of a golf course in a National Trust village, Styal Lodge is surrounded by gorgeous countryside and is still close to transport links and Manchester airport. They’ve done an excellent job of making the venue easy to customise for unique weddings, with the right balance of textured wooden walls, rustic charm, and modern luxuries. The mirrorball-style chandelier looks awesome with some disco lights on it too!
From their emotional ceremony to drinks and canapes on the terrace, there were tears, smiles, and laughter all day. Before their wedding breakfast, I took Hayley and Ivan for a wander through the grounds and made the most of having access to the beautiful lake for some newlywed portraits by the water. They loved the idea of not having to pose or feel awkward, and my relaxed, unposed style meant they could focus on each other and enjoy a few quiet moments together (while I captured the magic).
Their evening reception had an awesome soundtrack, with some absolute bangers thrown in by Ivan’s Dad, a very talented drummer. The dance floor brought the whole family together, dancing, singing, and celebrating Hayley and Ivan in style.
