What can I say about this superb wedding I photograph at Samlesbury Hall earlier in the year. Emma & Ed have have one heck of a story and it was nothing short of a sensational day & an honour to celebrate their wedding day with them. Camera in hand and with a smile on my face, I was asked to capture all the moments they shared with their loved ones as they live in Canada now and so these moment are few and far between with their family. My speciality is un-posed wedding photography and this is what Emma and Ed were looking for keeping anything formal very very minimal. Real moments photographed, without intrusion & I capturing them. An incredibly memorable and special wedding day to photograph full of emotion.
Set on the outskirts of Preston along the A677 lies the stunning 800 year old Samlesbury Hall. The building itself is older than Canada where Emma & Ed now live and they embraced the history of the building. The Tudor building has centred old architecture that is a sheer feast for the eyes. I can see why so many couples choose to get married at this award winning wedding venue. The old wooden beams and medi-evil theme is the essence of the venue and the wood panelling is a wedding photographer’s dream. It helps dark the backgrounds creating more striking photos. The light streams in through gorgeous windows in each room creating sensational moments, surrounds for you and your wedding guests.
The ceremony room is the hub of emotion and with such striking surroundings it’s easy to see why Emma & Ed decided on Samlesbury Hall to be where they got married. Married by the fantastic Rivington Celebrant www.therivingtoncelebrant.co.uk. The civil ceremony was very emotional for everyone, especially Emma who with her gorgeous daughter Emma proclaimed her vows in front of her wonderful mother who she rarely sees now.
All this whilst Emma and Ed’s fabulous family and friends watching with tears in their eyes. Because the weather was nice, everyone headed outside for the drinks reception. Outside you find the most gorgeous lawns and wooded surroundings. It was a pleasure working with the wonderful www.janinabrocklesby.com as my second shooter & www.daniellamakeuphair.com during the wedding prep.
